While trying to take a photo of the hallway with the fire alarm, I realised that the hallway was so dark and would make the fire alarm appear over exposed. To try and get around this, I increased the shutter speed however this went on to cause a blurry image due to the shake involved as I had no tripod. Even though I was unable to get the image I desired in my mind, I learnt that metering for the darker spots (i.e. in the corner) would cause for better exposure which I used for the fire alarm image that is part of my final portfolio.
