When thinking about my sense of place I first started to think about the places I was happiest, I had ideas of family and friends as well as locations such as my home in Cornwall and various places i have lived. I came to the conclusion that I wanted to base my sense of place on my band, more specifically behind these scene’s of what goes into a band. Live shows, after parties, rehearsals and being surrounded by the people I care about most.I started by looking up the photographers of some of my favourite bands and artists such a the 1975, mac demarco and david bowie, as well as looking up famous music photographers such as jim marshall and mick rock. looking at the images i had discovered that the way that the photos were captured seemed to be intimate moments, especially when looking at photography behind the scenes there is a sense of belonging and happiness which is something that i hope to capture in my images. images that capture a moment or that can sum up a feeling within the context built around it so that you can read between the lines is how i want to shoot this portfolio. My aim is to keep my camera around me at all times to capture as many moments like these as possible. I really want to depict the sense that this is my everyday life, no sugar coat of makeup, just the true images of real people, real moments and genuine emotions that can be seen from behind the lense of a camera.
