ONYX Magazine – Masthead
I chose the name ONYX from the list of names for the previous mini-magazine in Part 1. For the masthead, I know I wanted it to be clear and simple, which Martha admired in our tutorial.
Below are the fonts I experimented with:
I then chose the font ‘Offerings’ as I liked its simplicity and also ‘quirks’, like the upside down ‘S’. The full alphabet can be seen at the bottom of the below image. I then decided to change the ‘N’ to the opposite way round to compliment the quirks of the font. The masthead in the middle is the current masthead:
