Design for performance

In this project I got the opportunity to work in a group, focusing on a particular area of creative performance. I decided to be part of the costume designing team. Although this is something I have never tried before I thought it would be the most interesting, especially given the themes of the text we were given:

Below I have attached the text, ‘light is like water’ by Gabriel Garcia Marques. I’ve highlighted words that and sentences that I thought were important when thinking about costumes. This includes any mention of colour, clothing, props, and any other key features of the text.

As written in my notes, the main colours I visualise from the texts are shades of yellow and blue. Yellow representing light, and blue representing water. some secondary colours also include orange, green and turquoise , colours often found in tropical fish and coral reefs.

From the text I also created 2 mind maps

Annotated text
My mind map 1
My mind map 2
Mind map of other mind maps created by those in my group
