This is my mind map for project 8. It shows all the different art forms I enjoy most. Whenever I’m finding it hard to choose a focus, I find mind maps are really helpful because once I have everything written down, I can make links between them. Eventually it settled on ‘ minimal masses’. Inspired by the famous where’s Wally?, my project features a large amount of small minimal drawings packed together. This allows me to combine nearly everything on my mind map, as the pictures can be of anything. Final piece still to be finished. These drawings take an extremely long time and this one is proving to take the longest due to the fact that nearly all the figures are interacting or doing something I actually found this in my sketch book from a while ago. Whenever I’m bored and just fancy having a doodle, I always go straight for pen and often just jumble random things in close proximity to each other. This is another example of one of my doodle pages. I really love the look of a page that’s completely full, but with lots of different things to look at This is the first experiment for minimal masses. I thought doing a sea life theme would be interesting because there are countless amounts of creatures that can be used. Unfortunately I don’t think this worked as well as I wanted because there are so many different size variations. The tiny fish get lost when placed next to the larger animals. The effect works much better when everything is of more or less equal proportion. I still liked the idea of my pieces having themes. I just needed a category of something that varied but not too much. Dogs were the perfect fit as they’re are so many different breeds but they’re all still the same species. This was the first rough draft. This is the first digital piece I did and the final draft of the dog theme. You have to try and find the cat! One of my earlier doodles that acted as inspiration for this project My own phone cases that I painted a while ago shows a very similar style This piece is filled entirely with naked bodies. It is the one I am most proud of so far in the project The drawings on this piece are completely random, meaning there is no theme whatsoever. These are infant all things suggested by people on Instagram Incomplete piece, similar to the nude one only this time the figures are in contact, having sex in various positions Pulp fiction concept Monster concept
