The Shinning- 1980

The shinning is a film adaptation of the book by the same title from Steven King. Film Director Stanley Kubrick. Jack and his family move into an isolated hotel with a violent past. Living in isolation, Jack begins to lose his sanity, which affects his family members. Towards the end of the film where Jack really starts to loose his mind he turns on his wife and chases her through the hotel. Where they reach the bedroom they have been staying in. Wendy locks herself in the bathroom to escape from jack as she struggles to climb out the window, jack uses his axe on the door creating the famous “Here’s Johnny” moment.

From these stills from the film I was able to plan how i would build this next model.

   

This became the largest models I have done because its essentially two rooms with an arch separating the two spaces. The floor is stained popsicle sticks. I made small pillows for the bed and the rugs I coffee stained to appear older and stained.
