When the world around me seemed to become utterly stagnant, I looked out my window as a reminder of change and the future. This sparked an interest in transforming banality, searching for the uncanny through a process of photography, digital printmaking and projection. In these pieces I am engaging with the world outside my window; at the now seemingly alien atmospheres, informed by the Surrealists take on the city. Elements of surrealism are explored through processes of combining images to create repetitions and contrasting juxtapositions. I am interested in the subconscious, techniques of defamiliarization and warps of the original aesthetics, objects, interiors, and landscapes of the modern 21st Century. I seek to critique the everyday world-view, offering alternative subjectivity and production of meanings in the built world
