I turn to physicality to therapize disorder. Emotion guides the level of control that I take throughout process; at times I perform before the paper, closing my eyes and embracing the tension, or lack thereof, in my body as a vehicle for mark-making. At others I critically approach work I had left exposed and unattended, seeking to capture photographic compositions within it. I place emphasis on phenomenology, with an interest in the spatial relationships experienced between self and world as well as those within images. This extends to exploration of three dimensionality, providing me with a metaphor for the depths of the mind.
