For my work in progress show, I figured I should do something digital given my focus on it, and as I have been mostly focusing on developing the app, I wanted to put together a slideshow of mock-ups of how the app would look in the App Store, which was a lot of cumbersome work on Figma, but it pushed me to come up with the colour scheme and branding for the app. I decided on maroon and very light baby pink and put together a slideshow on PowerPoint that would run on a projector on the slanted wall in the corridor outside the fashion comms studios. I was very happy with what I had prepared and had stayed up all night making sure it was perfect.
I do struggle with some anxiety, and having stayed up late the night before definitely did not help. Coming into the studio, I thought we would have been setting up in the morning, but everyone had their exhibitions all set up and ready to go. I felt that I was lacking behind and immediately got very anxious and left right away, disappointed that I didn’t just collect myself and set up as usual to present my work. Nonetheless, I have attached my slideshow here for you to see what my WIP show would have looked like. Moving forward with this, I want to put together a branding spreadsheet for the swapp app and start coming up with how I want the ad to look for it. I will be working together with a film student to put together this short fashion film to promote the app, which I am very excited to do. One challenge would be finding models for this as I want a variety of people to be in this ad so I need to figure out how to find models. One way I was thinking of going about it, which I have seen to be successful with small brands, is posting videos on TikTok saying that they are looking for models, which I think would bring around a good amount of responses. I am also not sure what I should be paying models??? If I do scout people from TikTok, how can I go about it professionally and logistically?
