Hair Dye
Hair extensions are usually used to change ones’ appearances and so dyeing you’re hair to a different colour would dramatically change your look.
Illustrations with Watercolour
Doll Head
As a group, we took inspiration from the Barbie x BLEACH collaboration so we managed to get a Barbie doll head. Instead of trying to print or dye on it’s hair, we decided to braid the hair, add ribbons, beads and adding some spring key chains. Aiming to recreate dreadlocks. We also used paints and spray paints to add colour to the hair and we also tried to style it by cutting pieces of its hair.
Barbie x BLEACH
Dalston salon BLEACH collaborated with Barbie doll brand as they’ve recently released Barbie Design Printables, in which a range of patterns and colours can be printed on Barbie’s hair.
Slides Experimental Work
With the images from the slide workshop, I did further experimenting by collaging on them physically; glueing on strands of hair using yarns, drawing on them using different types of medium. I tried to trap some ink under tape again but this time on actual printed image. I then experimented more by digitally layering images on top of each other using photoshop. I decided to layer the illustration I did as it looks similar to scratching film.
Biography
I’ve been a little fashionista for as long as I can remember and I have to admit some of my style choices I made were pretty embarrassing and cringe-worthy – as I recall the days while writing this. I’m originally from Philippines and moved to England when I was 7 years old. Moving here made me more exposed to the art and fashion industry. Growing and embracing my creativity – now fulfilling a career in fashion while studying a course of Fashion Communications. At this moment I’m not quite sure what I want to do specifically career wise. That’s why I’ve chosen this course so I can explore other possible careers within the Fashion Communication course.
Illustration
I did a quick sketch using pen and I thought off collaging the actual image with my illustration.
Slide Projecting Workshop
Today we did slide projecting with our own images. I like how it is a little distorted and ‘destroyed’ from printing on acetate as the ink don’t dry easily on a plastic surface. You can see blobs of ink on some pictures. Afterwards, we destroyed the images by scratching on it, adding colour using pens, trapping ink under cello tape, burning and I also stuck pieces of hair onto one of my slides using tape – shown below.
Styling Workshop: White Shirt & Denim
These are images that I particularly like from out styling workshop. I’ve also edited to make the walls more whiter and sharpen the details of the whort shirt and denim.
