Exhibition Space

This is my exhibition space for the final piece. I chose to present my work like this because I want the audience to look at the images on the wall to question my work. I then decided to place my zine on a plinth so it is easily accessible to pick it up and look at and understand how I have achieved this finished piece.

Judith Clark Catalogue Research

Judith Clark is a curator and exhibition maker, based in London. I have chosen to look at Judith Clark’s digital exhibition catalogues to gain inspiration for my own. Each catalogue appears different, some have lots of text, others have more images and some have little captions. I have decided to take elements of all of them when creating my own exhibition zine/catalogue. Researching into other catalogues allowed me to explore layout, typography, captions and photo placement. Clark tends to cater to the catalogue depending on the exhibition, using interviews or explaining how a particular garment is made and what it means. Each catalogue is aesthetically pleasing and focuses solely on the exhibition. I think these references and research is relevant to my project as this is exactly what I want to achieve because it allows the audience to read up on the exhibition and get some insight on presentation and how it was created. There are many to look at, helping me gain inspiration for different types of exhibitions and tailor it to my own.
