I’m creating a moss rug in my exhibition to create a comfortable space within the sensory experience; I’ve included some images of the growth and progression of this process. After learning more about the dimensions and frames of the exhibition, I have become a bit worried about how much space I can use. Still, all the elements used in the exhibition are essential for the premise of the space for the exhibition to interact and for the user to create their own point of view of my biomaterials. The premise of the moss rug is a place for the user to have a comfortable space to listen to our ASMR experience in relevance to the biomaterial process. The carpet will be placed on a camping chair and cover the whole seat; the importance of the rug is to represent our inspiration and respect for the natural world that we want to preserve and protect. I’ve been working on the moss rug for a while, and it has been a long project for me, but I am at the final stages of creating lots of pom poms to fill up the space; through developing the rug, I have explored a lot of knitting, weaving, crocheting techniques and have worked on spinning my own wool which has helped me get a lot more confident will wool/yarn work. As I enjoy working with yarn, I’m considering experimenting with biomaterial yarn and how this can work in the biomaterial sector to progress with my materials.
