Photoshoot Review

Here is my folk-styling-inspired shoot. With these images, I wanted to focus on the natural environment to complement my model and images. I was really happy with the final outcomes of the shoot, which are shown in this blog post. The lighting equipment I used in this shoot was a flash gun and a reflector, the reflector created this comforting, warm lighting on the model. My biomaterial objects will be in the images to move further with this fashion shoot for my final outcome. I want the focus to be on the biomaterial object, but I also want to show how it will suit an outfit through my styling. These images are purely for me to experiment with folk styling and practice my technical skills in preparation for my final shoots. When working on my portfolio, I want to experiment with more fashion shoots so I have a range of content to explore when working with technical elements is really important to show how I work with my technique of photography. For a lot of my shoots, I have focused on working with natural lighting, so I feel quite confident in this field. I’ve attached the contact sheet from this shoot to show my reflection on the final imagery.

I was really happy with my final imagery and was very proud of this shoot, but I wish I could have explored many more poses and worked with the windmill more for my imagery. My model wasn’t comfortable shooting around people, so we were limited to far space. My favourite imagery is from the beach location, as the natural lighting and work with the reflector gave a warm glow to the model’s face. The purpose of this shoot was to work with the styling. I’m happy with how the outfit translated into the image. The natural environment matched the environment, and the model mixed well to compose the image.
