My final fashion space was an online digital website that was documenting the portfolio for symbiosis. The website was aimed to share the process and imagery of the final Biodesign products. I really enjoy creating the website and I’m happy with the outcome. Next time I’m going to explore or develop my web design I want to expand and learn about creating animations for web design. Through this project, I think I stepped out of my shell a lot more and learned a lot of new techniques, and started to get comfortable with constantly learning from trial and error as I used to always see it as a failure. I’ve been very passionate about this project it has been a constant inspiration source for me since the last project of my first year. The premise of Symbiosis is very important to me and is always going to be my life dream to contribute to a positive change within the fashion industry. I began my research within the Creative Collaboration module where I initially discovered Biodesign. Since that discovery, I have been on a rabbit hole of emerging Biodesign brands and practitioners, techniques, and methods. I find the exploration of working with nature while not abusing it is an impactful thing. The constant question of the premise for this symbiosis would be meeting the demand of a market. I would want each product (if available to sell) to be handmade and custom to the customer so the delivery and production time would start from the order placement. Mass consumption has engulfed the world with leftover stock and even in Symbiosis circumstances if mass-produced the product lifecycle would come to an end and the product would biodegrade. I did plan for if I was going to explore a physical space and I would have been excited to go ahead with that idea, but I feel like that would need a lot more time and space than I had within this project leading to a digital option being the best result. I worked on a leaflet that controlled the map portion of the narrative. The plan for the map was to place QR codes on the website within some of the most polluted areas within Brighton. Through some research, I found I made a small infographic to describe how we can change for productive change. I wish I spent more time on the graphics however I struggled with the layout and context of the text. As it was describing certain areas I wanted to involve and educate the reader to real statistics and honest realizations. One of the most interesting factors I found while working on this project was the element of ASMR I wanted to integrate into narrating the process. As I was following the user’s journey through the website the ASMR kept the scroll entertaining and intriguing.
