In our lecture today we knew it was going to be a styling and shooting workshop before we got to the lecture so we had time to prepare. Before our test shoot, we individually made mood boards of our own individual style as our shoot was planning on experimenting with angles and poses to understand what imagery we want to produce for our interviews and shoots. The mood board I made for my own personal style is below. Within our final shoots, they aren’t going to require necessary styling as we are capturing people’s individual style and their own self-safety within their clothing but acknowledging how I feel security within specific styles and looks really interested me when boosting this project.
Below are our contact sheets from the shoot, we were using a Nikon D3600 with a flash gun using a range of settings due to the rapid change in weather and lighting. We explored three different locations including a coffee shop, Brighton beach, and pavilion park. I’m overall very happy with the shoot outcomes as we experimented with a lot of poses and angles and we expressed which ones we liked within our imagery and which ones we didn’t think worked so well. Our contact sheets are below.
Being pleased with a lot of the images together we looked through all the pictures and were taking notes of which images we like the best to edit. I edited around 30 pictures and we had to present to the class 4 images. We ended up showing 6 images that we felt represented what imagery we want to produce in the future and they are below. I love the edited images and think they really capture the full body shots we want to capture. Through this, we decided we want to also photograph up close details focusing on human nature and appearance, including fiddling and small details within an appearance that might not be significant but are personal.
