The video aims to communicate to the viewer the difference between an activating and deactivating gambling experience. It acts as a piece of supporting material, highlighting the concepts put forward in the project.
Various different techniques were used to achieve this comparative approach. As there was no prototype of the product, existing online videos had to be combined, altered and overlaid in order to create an interesting video.
As seen above, the first part of the video aims to activate users as much as possible, showing them bright full screen colours, overlaid slot reels, and flashing lights, whilst activating jackpot sounds can be heard in the background.
Now that the viewer is in an activated state, the video can aim to deactivate them. The images above show the approach taken to deactivate the viewer.
The video then ends. Hopefully, the viewer will now have a better understanding of the ways in which some gambling experiences can activate users, resulting in impulsive behaviour.
