Steps Taken:
- Measure the resin
- Put on fusion
- Make design svg file
- Insert svg, place onto the surface
- Emboss that design onto your shape
- Make a box just smaller then your resin
- Then make a cylinder (click on the centre of top face of box) extrude down
- Draft edges of box (select face you want to draft bottom of cylinder then face you want to draft against- top face of box)
- Add cylinder on top of bottom cylinder, make it lower than the box so that mould can be filled
- Add DFX file from insert tab
- Select cylinder as it’s home base
- Then ‘finish’ sketch
- Extrude bird ‘press pull tool’ pull bird up
- Open stl file with srp player
- 2mm tool for roughing
- Finishing – 0.8mm tool
- Create the tool path- generates code
- Make sure tools are in correct place in machine
- Make origin top left corner
- In machine set origin to be that corner
- Use x y buttons
- Press x make origin button
- So you know that’s on 0
- Then press next on on computer
How I Solved Complications:
- Before it was far away so I changed it from MM to CM and used arrows to move it roughly onto cylinder
- Then clicked on dfx file and went to modify ‘sketch scale’ to make the bird fit inside circle
- Check vertical faces see how big they are for killing tools
- Inner cylinder 8mm high so I made a slight draft so chocolate shape will be more conical
- Model time was 2h long: So made inner disc shallower on fusion and made scale smaller – chocolate will be shallower. That made cutting time less
