About IPE

Interprofessional Education (IPE) is an important component of the education of all health and social work professionals that allows students to learn ‘with, from and about each other’ (CAIPE, 2016) with a view to enhance collaborative working. Collaborative working is essential to the delivery of modern, high-quality health and social care and to the physical and mental wellbeing of those working in the sector.

Health and Social Work colleagues, along with the wider University community, recognise the benefits of IPE and are committed to enhancing the cross-school provision of IPE for our students. There is a drive to ensure that all activities support students to develop Brighton Attributes and that IPE activities are sustainable. Moreover, @BrightonIPE aims to support student engagement and the co-creation learning.

IPE is introduced into relevant students’ degree programmes as early as Year 1.  For further details, please see IPE@UoB tab.
