Next Steps

In this last week I’ve worked on further research into Fibershed and the Knotty Ones, understanding more about what they do and how their companies works. I plan on contacting Fibershed to discuss their values and taking a trip to the East Sussex farm to document their processes and see how they make their wool and dyes. I would love to work with them for my project, holding their brand values throughout the brand and having full documentation of where my wool has come from and why. The next steps to grow my own project will consist of a lot of making, planning, and designing. Over the christmas break I will be planning photoshoots in various locations, as well as designing and making my pieces. I’m going to start off small by making charms, scarves and bags, it can be quite time consuming which is why I will do this. I’m hoping I will be able to go home as I’m surrounded by locations that I’m planning on using in my imagery, displaying what I have made in unique ways and focusing on styling. I will be continuing my research into various brands who are doing similar things to inspire me further and learn more about who is involved in the industry.

I’ve enjoyed this project, it has allowed me to analyse and research deeper into what I am interested in and passionate about creating. I look forward to the next steps of my project, hopefully connecting with Fibershed to help progress my project to becoming a reality.
