History of Art and Design academic Annebella Pollen has won a competitive commission to write a popular history of the British Council’s Visual Arts Department and Collection. Dr Annebella Pollen, Academic Programme Leader on the History of Art and Design, will focus on the British Council’s collection of British art.
Dr Pollen said: “The collection includes work by some of the biggest names of the 20th and 21st centuries and comprises almost 9,000 items.
“Its major work involves sending art exhibitions all over the world in support of international cultural relations and this will be the first book to survey the British Council’s practices and achievements in this programme.”
The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. More information on the Council’s visual art collection and more information on Dr Pollen.
