Dr John McCullough, lecturer on the University of Brighton’s Creative Writing MA, has had his new book Reckless Paper Birds shortlisted for the 2019 Costa Poetry Awards.
John says, that with Reckless Paper Birds , “I set out to do something different from my other work. I wanted to write a more political book that explored vulnerability, that probed the idea of having a soul and focused on the side of myself that is anxious and fallible, incompetent and manic. I’m really glad if the book connects with other humans who ever feel the same.”
