Course Teams

Course Leader

Course Leaders are responsible for the administration of the course you are studying on. They will meet with students and Student Representatives during Student Staff Forums. Where necessary, they will follow up on any issues of concern raised. Course Leaders are also responsible for monitoring and advising on the academic progress of students on the course with Personal Tutors and the School Management Team. You can find out more about your Course Leader here.

Module Tutors and Module Leader

Module Leaders are responsible for the development and management of their modules, in conjunction with module teaching teams. This includes coordinating the module delivery i.e. arranging lecturers for the lectures and workshops, including sourcing visiting lecturers from external companies/universities. It may sound obvious, but most questions from students relate to their modules. Therefore, your module tutor will form a critical part of your support network. Any specific modular questions relating to content, assessment, reading and/or study tasks etc. should be directed to your module tutor.

Course Administrator

The course administrator will be able to deal with issues relating to your student profile e.g. the modules which appear on student central. This may include ensuring your academic/student details are up to date. Their details can be found on your course page.

Course Rep

Course Reps are supported by the SU and form an important link between students and staff. They use student feedback to ensure that the university takes students views into account to improve and develop their course. Course Reps are well placed to discuss collective, course related issues with the staff team on behalf of their classmates. They are elected each year by the students studying on that course. Their names are published on Studentcentral from early November each year.

Course Handbook

You can find further information about your course and the course support team in your Course Handbook. The Handbook covers: Structure and Content of your course, Management and Administration, Assessment, Course-Specific Regulations, Student Entitlements and Responsibilities and Library, Computing and Media Services. This is accessible via Studentcentral from the beginning of your first term. Navigate to your Course Page via the Studies tab at the top of Studentcentral. In the menu on the left-hand side, you will find “Course Information” where your Handbook is located.
