interpret a Turnitin Originality Report – Filters

The filters available in feedback studio are the same as those that can be set for the whole assignment.

Usually we recommend not enabling them in the submission point so you have a clear slate against which to assess submissions. It is important to be able to compare like with like.

The filters can be applied to individual papers as they are marked if you are concerned.

Exclude quotes will not match against any of the contents of the following quotation marks: “…”          «…»     »…«     „…“      『…』  「…」

It will not disregard single quotes ‘…’, as the us of apostrophes could exclude vast swaths of text…

The Exclude bibliography checkbox , discounts information that appears after the following phrases:

The Exclude sources checkbox ignores sources that are:

less than x words,

x%

or  can be disabled.

%  has a greater impact on a larger document – 2% on a 3000 word essay  60 words,  2% or 10000 words -200
