You’ll use this lab for a wide range of activities including:

  • simulating different climates by controlling the temperature (-20 to +50°C)
  • simulating relative humidity (20 to 95%)
  • pre-cooling or heating via water immersion tank
  • body composition assessment
  • training interventions and screening
  • assessing different sweat markers
  • urine analysis
  • thermal imaging
  • skin and core temperature monitoring
  • gas analysis.

  • purpose-built environmental chamber
  • water immersion tank
  • blood analysis equipment
  • Monark cycle ergometers
  • Douglas bags
  • Oxygen and carbon dioxide analysers
  • Woodway inbuilt treadmill
  • sweat analysis equipment
  • array of temperature monitoring via core, tympanic, infrared, skin thermistors, thermal camera
  • scales and stadiometer
  • urine analysis equiment: Osmometer, refractometer, colour chart
