Coaching in The Gambia

Two University of Brighton students put their learning into practice during a trip to The Gambia. Sport Coaching BSc(Hons) students Matt Ewing and Megan Hill tell us about their trip.

Olympic Park field trip

Sport Studies BA(Hons) and Sport Business Management BSc(Hons) students enjoyed a day out of the classroom on a field trip to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The trip was organised to explore issues connected to the Introduction to Politics in Sport module.

Another major award shortlist for course leader

Sport Journalism BA(Hons) co-course leader Rob Steen has been shortlisted for another major award – the prestigious Lord Aberdare Literary Prize, awarded annually by the British Society of Sports History.

Sport and Exercise Science BSc(Hons) course leader, Dr Alan Richardson, with support from Drew Smith and Carl James (former and existing research students), feature in a recent BBC1 documentary ‘The truth about your medicine cabinet’.

Inaugural lecture in Eastbourne

John Nauright, Professor of Sport and Leisure Management at the University of Brighton will be presenting his inaugural lecture Sport and Tourism: Creating a Global Dreamland on Wednesday 29 April 2015 at 6.30pm at the University of Brighton’s Eastbourne campus.

EIS consultancy for lecturer

Senior lecturer, Dr Jeanne Dekerle, is working with the English Institute of Sport (EIS) as a consultant. Jeanne, who is course leader for Applied Sports Physiology MSc and Applied Exercise Physiology MSc at the School of Sport and Service Management, is supporting the team of EIS physiologists.

Sport Coaching graduate tours Brazil with Corinthian-Casuals

Danny Bracken studied Sport Coaching BSc(Hons) at the University of Brighton and graduated in 2013. He currently teaches at a private school outside of London and continues to play football for Corinthian-Casuals, something he started whilst studying at Brighton.
