Israel Sports Authority delegate visit

We were honoured to welcome a delegation of 20 elite Sport Coaches from The Israel Sports Authority to the School of Sport and Health Sciences.

The group was led by Gazi Nujeidat, International Affairs Co-ordinator at the Israel Ministry of Culture and Sport and recipient of a University of Brighton Honorary Doctorate.

The group spent a week taking part in a series of workshops organised by Principal Lecturer Dr Gary Stidder and took a tour of Brighton & Hove Albion FC’s Amex Stadium.

The group attended a sport coaches forum with University of Brighton academics Dr James Wallis, Professor John Sugden, Ben Gould, Warren Smart and Simon Green and John Lambert (Manchester United FC).  They also attended other Sport Science workshops including Sport Physiology with Dr Mark Hayes, Sport Nutrition and Disability Sport with Dr Gary Brickley, Sport Psychology with Anastasiya Khomutova and Strength and Conditioning with Rob Harley.

Event Co-ordinator Dr Gary Stidder said: “We have a long-standing relationship with the Israel Sports Authority and were extremely pleased to have hosted the delegation.

“I would like to thank all the members of staff and contributors for their outstanding presentations which were very well received by the group.”
