PhD student presents in Boston

Rosie Twomey, PhD student at the School of Sport and Service Management and technical instructor on the Sports Coaching BSc and Exercise Science MSc courses, was invited to present at the prestigious 3rd International Congress on SOLDIERS’ PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE which took place in Boston.

Her presentation entitled Fatigue at High Altitude: Where Does It Come From and What Can the Warfighter Do About It? was very well received.

After her presentation, Rosie was complimented by high-profile speakers and personalities for her ability to offer very clear and useful practical implications from her scientific findings. Rosie was one presenter of a group of four of international reputation.

Rosie is already the co-author of three papers which have been published in respected journals such as the Journal of Applied Physiology, despite not yet having completed her PhD.

Rosie’s PhD supervisors, Dr Jeanne Dekerle and Dr Emma Ross, are quite rightly very proud of her inspiring achievements and the exposure she is bringing to the University of Brighton.
