Award for hospitality team
A team of academics at the university’s School of Sport and Service Management have won an award that recognise innovation and excellence in hospitality management education.
The award was sponsored by The Council of Hospitality Management Education executive, in association with SHARE Centre and the team received the award for their efforts with the menumuseum.eu project. The project is a combined research facilitating archive and interactive teaching tool that can be used to review and analyse trends in menu design, pricing, and food and beverage trends.
The team of academics, led by Dr Ioannis Pantelidis, collected over 500 menus which are now part of the growing online archive that is utilised by academics both inside and outside the University of Brighton.
Users can also upload menus to help expand the database.
