University of Brighton students support local business’ crowdfund venture
Students from different University of Brighton campuses have united to help support the growth of a local business.
Journalism, marketing, management and media undergraduate students are working together for the success of Greenfrog Botanic’s crowdfund campaign. Greenfrog Botanic is an all-natural, vegan and cruelty-free certified soap company.
The students were brought together by Principal Lecturer and founder of Bright Young Things (BYT), Dan Bennett. BYT is a student led marketing communications and PR agency, which brings practical industry experience to students at the university.
Greenfrog Botanic owners, Nick and Julie, provided the students with an opportunity to apply their academic skills to a live client. The company are part of the Universities Green Growth Platform programme which has provided them with training, guidance, mentoring and advice.
Lorraine Bell, Business support manager at the Green Growth Platform said: “Several students from each of our service management, business and media schools have come together to produce crowdfund campaigns and PR campaigns which has provided them with a real insight to industry.”
Greenfrog aims to raise £160,000 through Crowdcube and have proposed that the money raised will be used to enable brand expansion for more ethical products on the market and to implement extra marketing to broaden their target market and increase customer loyalty.
