Podiatry opportunity day

Student podiatrists and practice educators came together at the Podiatry Opportunity Day at the Falmer campus.

Over 30 students studying on our Podiatry BSc(Hons) and Podiatry (Pre-Registration) MSc attended and were able to network with employers about podiatry opportunities and their future career.

student LourdesSecond year student Lourdes said:” I learnt a lot about different career opportunities for when I qualify as a podiatrist including surgery and more about dressings in the community.”

“Especially information about the transition from being a student and going into the workforce whether that’s in the NHS  or the private sector.”

They were joined by 45 practice educators who supervise and support the student podiatrists when they are on clinical placements.

Throughout the day attendees were able to improve their knowledge in CPD and placement-related training sessions.

In our exhibitor area, companies chatted about their podiatry-related products and were happy to answer questions.

Principal podiatry lecturer, Dao Tunprasert, (right in photo) who organised the event said: “This is a really important event for our podiatry students and an additional opportunity to improve their knowledge outside the classroom.

“Having to the opportunity to chat with mix with practice educators and prospective employers in an informal setting was invaluable.”
