Specialist facilities

We’ve heavily invested into lots of new facilities for students studying sport and exercise. In 2024 we opened brand new sports science labs that include labs for environmental work, biochemistry, neuromuscular, physiology and more.

students doing activities in the labsOur newly opened sport and health complex has a strength and conditioning suite, exercise rehabilitation gym, sports hall and hangar for activities and a swimming pool. Outside we have grass and synthetic pitches plus non-slip courts.

On all of our sport and exercise degrees you’ll have opportunities to take your learning into the real world on placement. You’ll get opportunities to build your professional experience with organisations that fit with your career plans – with local, national and international sports organisations, or perhaps in a school or with a community organisation.

We also offer opportunities for you to get involved in volunteering, work on challenges and live projects with our partners, ands work with clients in a supervised setting.

We offer scholarships for elite athletes, elite disabled athletes and talented sports performers. Our sports scholarship scheme is designed to help students develop their full sporting potential to train and compete at the highest level.
