A career in radiography

“Radiography is one of the most innovative aspects of healthcare – you’ll use advanced technology to look inside patients’ bodies and understand the root causes of their illness, and consult with colleagues on diagnosis and treatment plans.”

From September 2021 we are launching our new Diagnostic Radiography BSc(Hons) and applications are now open!

Our three-year degree will prepare you to become a registered diagnostic radiographer and meet statutory requirements to gain a professionally recognised qualification. In the NHS you’ll start your career as a Band 5 – pay scales can be found on the NHS website.

Our health professions courses are joint 1st in the UK for career prospects in the Guardian University Guide 2021.

There is a growing demand for radiographers. The NHS is set to radically overhaul the way MRI, CT and other diagnostic services are delivered for patients which could lead to the need for an additional 4,000 radiographers. Find out more about the plans for the new community diagnostic hubs.

Join us for an online open day to find out about our new Diagnostic Radiography BSc(Hons) and studying at Brighton – we have events taking place on Saturday 7 November and Wednesday 18 November. Book your open day place.
