Hastings Storytelling Festival success!
Senior lecturer Jayne Luscombe and lecturer Mandy Curtis have produced another successful Hastings Storytelling Festival through their production company, 18 hours.
The festival ran from 5-11 November with 24 individual events ranging from an arts-filled midnight walk to an afternoon with Axel Scheffler an author and the illustrator of The Grufallo. Thousands attended and you can view the 2018 programme on the website.
They have both been involved with the event since 2012 and manage everything from marketing, fundraising, supporting the committee, monitoring and evaluation, report writing, artist liaison, schools liaison and of course event delivery.
Their links with the festival provides a wealth of case studies that can be used in lectures for students studying on our events courses. Students also have the opportunity to get involved in the festival as volunteers to gain hands-on experience and a boost the their cv.
When asked if she was looking forward to a rest following the close of the festival Jayne commented “we have already begun planning the next one!”
