We need alternative ways of doing tourism
Tourism needs a radical overhaul to help secure the sustainability of the planet, tourism activists will argue.
Tourism and the impact of climate change, marine pollution, biodiversity loss, food and water security, health wellbeing and equality will be discussed at a seminar organised by the University of Brighton’s Tourism, Hospitality and Events Research and Enterprise Group.
Keynote speakers, both from Denmark’s Aalborg University, will be Professor Dianne Dredge, Professor of Tourism and Destination, and Associate Professor Helene Balslev Clausen, Associate Professor of Global Tourism Development and Study Coordinator of Tourism Study.
The seminar ‘The Alternative Economies of Tourism’ is on May 30, 2-5pm in Room G19 in the Greynore Building in Darley Road on the University of Brighton’s Eastbourne campus.
The seminar is free and open to the public. To reserve a seat, email Dorthe Green at D.Green3@brighton.ac.uk
