New book launched to support UG nursing students learning on placement
Jessica Mills, Senior Lecturer – Nursing Academic Programme and Course Lead – Nursing BSc(Hons) and Darren Brand, Senior Lecturer in adult nursing, have recently published a new book, mapped closely to Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards, it is designed to support pre-registration nursing students on their placements.
Our undergraduate nursing students spend 50% of their course learning on placement in local NHS Trusts, private and voluntary organisations. This book encapsulates their extensive teaching and nursing experience in a new practical guide ‘Learning in Practice for Nursing Students‘ which aims to support students through the practical element of their course which can often be the most rewarding but also the most challenging.
Congratulations to both Jess and Darren, on producing an essential guide to help all future nursing students benefit from their time on their practice placements.
