275 million pints of beer, 31 million breakfasts and 52 million coffees sold in one year in all the Wetherspoon outlets in England!

These are just some of the fascinating facts that we found out when James Ullman, Head of Retail Audit, came to speak with hospitality students.

James is one of our International Hospitality Management BA(Hons) graduates and returns annually to meet with current students – he is just one of a growing number of alumni who deliver guest lectures and facilitate field trips and study visits with their companies.

James also led a master class for second year students looking at how to analyse profit and loss accounts to determine trends in business performance.

Hospitality student Helena commented: “I found the session really helpful. At the moment I am unsure what particular role I would like to do in the future and it was really beneficial being introduced and learning about a finance/management role.

“It also linked in well with our modules and helped put some of what we have learnt in class, in accounting and revenue management, into practice.”
