Boxing trip for Sport Studies students

Students from all three years of the Sport Studies BA(Hons) took a trip to a boxing club as part of their course.

The trip was hosted by Eastbourne Boxing Club who have a long standing relationship with the university and its students; it works with our own boxing team and three of its coaches are University of Brighton graduates.

The trip was connected to a module based on how physical activity and sport are used to lean about sociological concepts. The boxing session was about embodiment and specifically how we learn to look natural in certain environments.

Students had already studied the topic and the trip provided a hands-on practical element to improve learning.

Aside from the learning element the trip also enabled students from all years of the course to meet up and enjoy a meal together afterwards.
