Exclusive Hotels visit for Hospitality students

International Hospitality Management BA(Hons) students concluded their series of field trips with a visit to South Lodge in Horsham.

The Hotel is part of the Exclusive Hotels and Venues group and the University of Brighton has a longstanding relationship with the hotel for both placements and graduate opportunities.

Mark Surguy, Operations Manager, gave a presentation to the students which highlighted key issues of resourcing and managing the overall performance of the business.

One of our students, Rachael, is currently completing her placement at South Lodge and spoke about the importance of maintaining excellent levels of customer service and her role within the front-of-house team.

Everyone was taken on a full tour of  the hotel by Rachael and two of our graduates, Lisa who is Front of House Manager and Louise who is Assistant Restaurant Manager in the Camellia Restaurant.
