Semester in Canada
Second year Sport & Exercise Science BSc(Hons) student, Riyaz Koheeallee, has taken advantage of an opportunity to spend a semester in Canada as part of his course.
Riyaz is currently studying at the University of New Brunswick at the Fredericton Campus and tells us about his time in Canada so far:
“Since I’ve been here, I’ve been studying, meeting new people from all over the world as well as many Canadians – people who I will remain friends with for many years to come.
“This whole thing has benefitted me more than I can describe in words. I’ve become a lot more independent than I was and it has given me so much more confidence in myself.
“I spent my spring break going around Canada a little bit (Montreal, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Ottawa and Quebec City) which was amazing. I also experienced skiing in the harsh winter of Canada which was an experience in itself!
“I would most definitely recommend this to other students as it builds confidence, independence as well as experiencing a whole new culture and meeting new people, not just people from Canada but from around the world.
“It has changed my life and I wouldn’t change any of it at all.”
The University of Brighton is also part of the Erasmums scheme which offers Sport and Exercise Science students the opportunity to study for between 3 and 12 months abroad. Find out more about the programme.
