Guest speakers line up for Sport Business Management BSc

Guest speakers are just one of the ways we enhance our courses and we invite a huge variation of influential figures to the school to talk to students.

Sport Business Management BSc(Hons) students starting their course in 2015 can look forward to a range of speakers throughout their course including the following guests who will be speaking during the introductory module:

Callum Murray, Editorial Director, SportcalGuest speakers SBM
Callum is in charge of Sportcal’s global editorial content and is responsible for the creation of editorial providing news, insight and analysis through the website, emails and Sportcal Insight magazine.  He specialises in the activities of the IOC and the international sports federations.

Before joining Sportcal, Callum was the founding editor of TV Sports Markets.  He has a sports journalism background that includes writing sports features for national newspapers, as well as editing a series of design advice guidelines for soccer clubs that were redesigning their stadia in the wake of the Hillsborough Stadium disaster.

Gordon Valentine, National Compliance Manager, England Boxing
Gordon is the Safeguarding/Child protection lead for England Boxing as well as holding responsibility for all disciplinary aspects. He is also the Anti-Doping lead and is currently working on a research project in partnership with Brighton University into drug related issues in Boxing.

Gordon has an extensive Policing background in various roles. He retired from Police service in 2011 after 38 years’ service where he gained considerable experience in child trafficking and became an advisor on both a national and international basis.
