Successful international conference grants awarded to three postgraduate research students

Oli Gibson, Jess Mee, Mark Hayes, Ash Willmott and Carl James, who are all members of the school’s Exercise in Extreme Environments Research Group, have successfully submitted abstracts for the programme of the Aspetar 2014 Training and Competing in the Heat Conference.

The abstracts were evaluated by the scientific committee based on their relevance to training and competing in the heat, according to the following criterions: the quality of the methods, the data obtained and the novelty of the findings.

There were also eight travel and accommodation grants available for masters, PhD students and post-doctoral fellows at the conference. These awards are highly competitive and much coveted and we are delighted that Oli, Mark and Jess were each successful in securing one.

The conference will be held in Doha on 23-24 March 2014.
