Pranil Raja graduated from our Geography BSc(Hons) in 2019. Now a Business Development Executive at British Engineering Services, Pranil shares his journey from student to professional with us and gives tips on how to find work after graduation.

I studied BSc Geography, by far one of the best courses offered by the university. During these pressing, precarious and anxious times I’m writing to give some words of encouragement and comfort and wisdom (hopefully), to help final year students move through their last months of study.

How studying Environmental Sciences at Brighton helped me succeed

Connor working in labThis past year I have completed my Environmental Sciences BSc(Hons) degree at Brighton with first class honours, receiving the Environmental Sciences award for best overall performance and completing a placement year in industry. It is thanks to all of my supervisors, lecturers, support staff and fellow students at the University of Brighton, that I was able to achieve this, and I wish to share with you how studying Environmental Sciences at Brighton put me in a position to succeed.

University of Brighton leads drive to boost BAME student organ donation

Researchers and students have teamed up for a project to tackle shortages in relation to blood and organ donation in BAME communities across the UK.

With the help of funding from NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), Simonne Weeks (Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Science) and Rebecca Craig (Senior Lecturer in Nursing) have overseen a project with students from Black, Asian, Mixed Heritage and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds to create  online awareness initiatives to support students across the UK to register an informed choice to donate organs, and tell others. University of Brighton graduate wins Apprenticeship award for innovation in patient care during a pandemic

Biomedical Science Degree Apprenticeship graduate, Meghann Creffield, won the award for Outstanding Contribution by an Apprentice to an Employer, at the Brighton and Hove Apprenticeships Awards, after being nominated by the Royal Sussex County Hospital pathology department where she works.
