The Instagram Account
For my final campaign I was inspired by the way brands use Instagram and in particular, influencers. I didn’t want to just copy this though I wanted to make it more relevant for the brand and the year. the whole concept of it was to create a believable page and invest in someone with a substantial amount of followers. The influencer does not have millions of followers like the other ASOS Instagram campaigns and is not a walking advert. I wanted the followers to feel like its just their friend giving them advice on where to shop and not a advert by some highly paid celebrity.
I got my idea for this from a report about how brands in the future need to invest in influencers that are smaller on scale so that the target market are not just thinking its all fake. I thought this was an amazing idea in relation to ASOS because they are an online based brand and use social media to promote themselves.
This feels more friendly and believable to the target audience and will persuade them in a way that I haven’t seen ASOS do in the past.
