New Romantics

Originally what drew me into look at this subculture was the amazing bright colours that were used in all aspects. I loved the idea that music influenced as well as celebrities such as David Bowie. I began to look at makeup and even experimented with some on myself. I enjoyed using makeup in a completely different way to what I’m used to and felt very inspired by this. The patterns, prints and fabrics seen in this subculture also really inspired me and made me want to experiment layering. New Romantics is something I’ve never looked into before and I can say it is fascinating how they used fashion to create a subculture
