Course Leader – The role of the Course Leader is both strategic and operational but is primarily focussed on working with the relevant School leadership team members and module leaders to ensure the smooth operation and academic health of the course. As Course Leader Katie Cakebread is responsible for ensuring the course is up to date and acts as a liaison between apprentices, course team, wider university team, employers and professional bodies.
Cohort Leader – All cohorts are allocated a cohort leader. Your cohort leader will be the next port of call in the absence of your personal tutor. Please make yourself familiar with your cohort leader. They will support your personal tutor to resolve any concerns you have and look at solutions.
Module Leader – Each module within the course has a module leader who is primarily responsible for the operational leadership of the module. The module leader is responsible, working with the module team, and in liaison with the course leader for module reviewing, preparation, delivery and assessment. Any questions or issues relating to a module content or assessment is best addressed by the module leader.
Personal Tutor – All apprentices are allocated a personal tutor so please do keep in contact with them. It’s always great for us to touch base and see you regularly over the two years of your course so we can make sure that all the support you need is in place. Your personal tutor is your first port of call to discuss any concerns you have, they will be able to support, advise and direct you. Personal Tutors for Feb 19 and Sept 19 also complete apprentice progress reviews.
Academic Assessor – The NMC use this definition “Academic assessors collate and confirm the student’s achievement of proficiencies and programme outcomes in the academic environment for each part of the programme”. The AA reviews the apprentice’s PAD and progression twice a year. In addition, the team have adopted that TNA Progress Reviews will be completed by the AA from February 2020 cohort onwards.
Please be reassured that we, as a team, are here to support you as you progress through the course. We appreciate that it can sometimes be confusing who to go to. Please access support from who you think is most appropriate for your concern. If there is someone else better placed to advise or support you, we will redirect you as needed.
