The Bridge building activity Year 8 & 9 

The Bridge building activity is designed to introduce students to engineering at university. It is usually delivered to year 8 or 9 students. It is run by ambassadors in groups of around 12-15.

The activity will run over 2 sessions with the students working in groups of 4-5 spending time to build the bridges and then testing them for strength byt adding weights.

The activity is very well received and it requires ambassadors to run the Bridge building presentation, issue the equipment and instructions and finally test the bridges.
