THE SOUND OF PRODUCTION BY THOMAS NICHOLSON

The Sound of Production is one manifestation of an ongoing project named Abstract Labour, by third year Fine Art Critical Practice student Thomas Nicholson. Have a look at his blog;

The project is concerned with the relationship between art and labour and has arisen through an interest in what it means to be an artist dealing with subjects such as nothingness, abstraction and play.

Artistic references include:

Francis Alys (When Faith Moves Mountains, Painting / Retoque, Sometimes Making Something Leads to Nothing)
Maria Eichorn (5 Weeks, 25 Days, 175 Hours – Chisenhale Gallery)
Sam Curtis (Stealth Residencies)
Art Workers’ Coalition
Mierle Ladder Ukeles. (Maintenance Manifesto and Hartford Wash Performance)
