This is what she’s said about this work which comes from the ‘-Paintings’ series (said ‘Minus Paintings’):

‘It’s concerned with the un-made moves in painting; painting’s unrealised formal possibilities. I am also fascinated by the question of painting’s ‘essence’ – how much you can take away before a painting ceases to be a painting. So this work deals with the unmade in two ways. However, what the viewer notices first and foremost is the absence of canvas: hence the title of the ongoing series.’
