Today, May 29th at 12.30-2.00pm in M2, Grand Parade, come along and be part of the Artists Placement conference, reflecting on second year FACP students placement work this year. All welcome.
Zønfërenze (pronounced: ‘zeun-feur-eunce’), isn’t the word on peoples’ lips. But it’s on the posters and Facebook page for FACP Level 5’s latest endeavour. What does it mean? Am I saying it correctly? I looked it up on google, and nothing came up! Is this a big joke?
Au contraire, the zønfërenze is going to be a display of recent Fine Art Placement work, where visitors, departers, artists and smartest will confer with one another – it is the freshest of spins in recent ‘conferring places’, or ‘conferences’, because it’s not a conference, it’s a zønfërenze. Our tutor Susan Diab, having heard the response to a requested ‘more exciting word than conference’, described silliness as valuable. On the other hand, some of us see it more apt to describe worthlessness as deadly serious.
