Emerging from COVID 19 – what has been happening

We are finally beginning to see the light at then end of the tunnel as containment measures are lifted. AT ERimNN we have been busy working with our colleagues from NNEdPro, Nutritank and CMUK as we participate in the development of the new undergraduate medical curriculum with AfN.  We are also key partners in the NNEdPro  ‘NEPHELP’ project.

At Brighton we have had 4 undergraduate medical students complete their IRP projects and are looking forward to hearing of their success. This will also provide opportunities for publication in the future.

We are supporting 1 medical student who has intercalated to complete an MSc in Public Health, and we will be submitting  an article draft with her project findings.

Phase 1 of our AIM Foundation funded project, NUTCAP,  has been completed and is in the process of being written up,  Phase 2 has started with  a 3rd year Nursing student undertaking the project as an alternative clinical placement. During her 8 weeks she will be visiting 5 different clinical areas within USH trust (merging of Brighton and Worthing Acute Trust), gathering data and supporting staff to improve nutritional care of adult patients.

Our first year Nursing Students and a small group of 1st year medical students are also helping us to review BAPEN on-line learning materials.
